David Trahair, C.A.
David is a Chartered Accountant and operates his own public accounting firm as a sole-proprietor. He received his C.A. designation in 1985 while with the firm of Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young). He spent two years in industry after leaving Clarkson Gordon in 1986 and began his C.A. practice in the fall of 1988.
He has extensive experience in audits of for profit and non-profit organizations. He has been the auditor of the Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada since 1990 and has regularly attended their annual meetings to present the financial statements and generally help the members understand what has been happening in the organization. He is also the auditor of the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund as well as other non-profits. For several years now he has gained extensive experience with the new CICA audit regulations requiring auditors to review and document client internal controls on all audit engagements.
During his years with Clarkson Gordon he ran the audits of Leon?s Furniture Limited and CFTO Television among many others.
David is also a writer and speaker on financial matters. He is the author of the National Best-Seller Smoke and Mirrors: Financial Myths That Will Ruin Your Retirement Dreams and The Entrepreneurial Itch (Self-Counsel Press). Since 2004 David has also been a director of the Credit Canada (formerly Credit Counselling Service of Toronto - CCST) as well as a member of its finance and audit committee. Credit Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with credit problems since 1966.

Philip Maguire, C.A.
Philip Maguire is a principal in Glenidan Consultancy, an independent boutique firm that specializes in matters of compliance, internal controls and accounting standards. Philip received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and his CA designation from Ernst & Young. He has over 20 years of business experience, primarily in the Financial Services industry, in both internal audit and operations management. Before he started Glenidan Consultancy Philip was a Vice-President of Finance at one of the country's largest financial institutions.
Philip and his team have implemented the Investor Confidence Rules and the Sarbanes Oxley Act across a wide range of companies with market caps ranging from $100 million to $1 billion.
Much of Philip's experience has been focused on marrying the requirements of financial and regulatory reporting, including development of policies and procedures, with administrative and accounting information technology. To this end he has been involved with many systems development projects, in Canada, Hong Kong and the Philippines, in order to enhance the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting under Canadian and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Philip has been a guest speaker on several television shows such as The Prosperity Show, Money in the Bank and Your Wealth and has contributed many articles to the Canada Business Wire on matters dealing with personal finance. He is a former Chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ontario Division, Mississauga Chapter. Philip, his wife, their two children and one Bouvier de Flanders live in Etobicoke. Philip enjoys training for and competing in triathlons and one day hopes to participate in an Ironman event.

Joyce Taylor, C.A.
Joyce is an established leader with extensive experience in risk assessment and internal control review. She has over 20 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant.
During that time she has been the National Accounting and Auditing Standards Co-ordinator for a National CA firm where she was responsible for preparing firm financial statements, reviewing the accounting, reporting and internal control systems of the firm, researched and wrote firm manuals and educational material and wrote and lectured firm courses.
Joyce also has experience as a sole-proprietor where she dealt with many different types of small businesses, analyzed and negotiated client business purchase and sale transactions, designed and implemented financial reporting and internal control systems for a provincial non-profit association and prepared funding applications for clients.
She has also had experience as a Chief Financial Officer on a contract basis and as the Quality Control Manager for a mid-sized CA firm.

Keith Baker, C.A. C.I.A.
Keith is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor. He has over twenty years of experience internal audit, corporate governance and regulatory compliance in financial reporting in a wide variety of industries.
Keith received his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from the School of Business at Memorial University, the Chartered Accountant designation with Ernst & Young and the Certified Internal Auditor designation form the Institute of Internal Auditors. He was the Chief Audit Executive for a major property management and land development company for twelve years. This role had responsibility for all areas of audit, compliance and investigation. Keith was also the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary for a private group of companies involved in environmental consulting and land remediation in North America and Europe. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Toronto Bid for the 2008 Olympic Summer Games.
Recently, Keith has being consulting with companies in the health, manufacturing, mining, brewing, service, film production, property management and development sectors with revenues between $50 million and $4.5 billion. This consulting work has covered many areas of internal audit management, governance advice and regulatory requirements for certifications of internal controls over financial reporting. Projects included managing and completing compliance activities for Sarbanes Oxley/NI 52-109 certifications by CFOs/CEOs, conducting statutory investigations, dispute resolution, reporting system updates, forensic audits including support of legal counsel, internal audit performance reviews and advising Board members regarding roles, financial covenant compliance and stewardship of invested funds.

Robert Crawford, C.A.
Robert Crawford is a Chartered Accountant who specializes in helping organizations develop and implement effective and efficient solutions to meet their risk management practices, governance and regulatory compliance requirements. He received his CA designation from Deloitte & Touche in Toronto and has worked in industry as a Controller and CFO prior to engaging in management consulting.
Robert has extensive experience helping organizations implement innovative solutions to meet complex financial challenges. He understands the key issues facing senior management and the Board of Directors. His thorough knowledge of business risk and IT processes has allowed him to lead successful financial project initiatives for organizations across a variety of industries including financial services, professional services, technology, retail and manufacturing. During the past four years, he has performed SOX 404 and CSA NI 52-109 certification reviews for SEC and TSX reporting issuers with revenues between $10 Million and $2Billion, was involved in an operational risk management engagement for a large Canadian bank and was the Director of Risk Management Services for a mid-size CA firm.
Robert believes strongly that organizations can increase their value by enhancing their governance, disclosure and reporting practices in a cost effective manner. To this end, Robert has participated in the Ontario Securities Commission Roundtable Discussions to highlight issues facing small to mid-size reporting issuers pursuant to the proposed Canadian Investor Confidence Rules. He has, along with Torys LLP and Thomson Carswell, presented webinars on key disclosure and reporting issues and his article “Life After SOX 404, The Role of the Internal Audit” has been published on the CA Magazine web site. He is also co-chair of the 2008 CICA IT Audit, Governance and Security Conference.
